Welcome To The Heritage
The building itself is Cairns 2nd oldest and was originally the Bank of North Queensland in 1890. The central hotel finished construction in 1909 and now stands as a pinnacle land mark in the centre of town. With its famous dome resting on top of the roof splitting the corner of Lake & Spence street, the building is full of historic architect and an elegant queenslander which can be admired by all.
The Heritage refit started in October 2007 and took 11 months to complete costing $2 Million Dollars.
It was essential to bring the venue back to life as it had worn away and become tired over the last 20 years. Now all age groups can enjoy itís beauty in what is now a Queensland State Heritage Listed & protected building.
